CHICAGO — A California man has been charged with shooting a Cicero police officer in a wild shootout near I-55 on Thursday.
Daniel Mageo, 27, was denied bail Saturday during a bond hearing at
the Leighton Criminal Court Building, 2650 S. California Ave. Mageo was
previously convicted of human trafficking and had outstanding warrants
for a parole violation and a sex offense.
"He is the poster child for no bail and that’s exactly what he’s
going to get," Cook County Judge John Fitzgerald Lyke Jr., said. "No
bail."
