A suspect was arrested Saturday afternoon just hours after police say he killed a woman by running over her several times at a Northeast Side elementary school parking lot, prompting two bystanders to open fire on the man’s vehicle.

San Antonio Police Department Sgt. David Renn said John Bogard, 89, was arrested by Windcrest Police around 6 p.m. in the 8400 block of Corto Circle. He was in Bexar County Jail on Saturday night; bail was set at $100,000.
