On May 11th, 2018, at about 1:59 P.M., officers responded to a stabbing call at 7550 South Westmoreland Road. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the suspect who indicated that he stabbed the Victim. The Victim Anthony Elder, a Black male 30, was transported to Methodist Central, where he was pronounced deceased. The suspect was taken to Jack Evans headquarters building and interviewed. The suspect reported he arrived home and confronted the victim, whom he did not know, as the victim was burglarizing the suspects apartment. A struggle ensued and the suspect stabbed the victim. Homicide detectives were notified and began their investigation. The Suspect was released pending a grand jury referral. This offense is documented on case number 099924-2018.
