UPDATE: Two residents found dead in home on Beluche
On Monday, February 20th 2017 the Galveston Police Department was called to a residence in the 7600 block of Beluche after a family member had found his father, and father’s wife dead inside their home. Detectives with the department’s Major Crimes unit as well as Investigators from the Crime Scene Unit responded and began processing the scene for forensic evidence and speaking with possible witnesses, neighbors, and family members.
Utilizing statements from several individuals including friends, family, and neighbors, forensic evidence found at the scene, as well as autopsy results gathered by the Galveston County Medical Examiner’s Office, it would appear that the two deaths were a result of a murder-suicide. At this point in the investigation it appears that Byron Everts shot his wife, Dulce Everts in the chest with a small revolver and then shot himself in the chest, killing them both. The details associated with what led to the dispute and ultimately the killing are still being investigated by Major Crimes Detectives at this time.
