The deceased has been positively identified as Donald Hazelwood, 61, of Silver City, North Carolina.

 

 

Taylor Police Investigating Suspicious Death In Murphy Park

 

TAYLOR, Texas – A man found dead in Murphy Park this morning has led to an investigation by Taylor Police. At 8:49 a.m., the deceased man was located in Murphy Park by City Parks and Recreation Department employees, who then notified the police department. The deceased man, possibly in his sixties, was located next to a vehicle at a table in the park, and officers observed trauma to the head. The deceased has not been positively identified.

Assisting Taylor Detectives in this case are the Williamson County Crime Scene Unit, and the Texas Rangers. An autopsy will be conducted to attempt to determine the cause of death. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Sgt. Sam Brister at (512) 352-5551.
