FORT WORTH, TX - Over the weekend FWFD responded to a report of a house fire in the 5300 blk. of Whitten Drive.

On arrival crews found heavy smoke from the residence. As crews began to make fire attack they were alerted to the fact there may be a child trapped inside.

Captain Washington and his crew began a search and found the 5 year old boy in a back bedroom.

Captain Washington scooped up the child and brought him out of the home safely.

The child suffered minor injuries and was treated by FWFD and MedStar on scene.

Crews train on a regular basis for this type of scenario and we are very proud of the efforts by Captain Washington and his crew.
