Investigation into Fatal Crash at 10700 West Bellfort


Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 10700 West Bellfort at 7:15 p.m. last Friday (October 26).

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer S. Coke reported:

The driver of a white Ford E150 van was traveling eastbound near the above address when the victim walked into the street and attempted to cross, not in a crosswalk.  The driver was unable to stop and struck the victim, who died at the scene.

The driver, who remained at the scene, did not show signs of intoxication and was questioned and released.

Investigation into Shooting at 4000 Griggs Road


Houston police are investigating the shooting of a male that occurred at 4000 Griggs at 2:50 a.m. on Saturday (October 27).

The male victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.

HPD Major Assaults & Family Violence Division Officers C. Grahmann and R. Naughton reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a report of a shooting at the above address.  A witness stated she heard a gunshot, looked outside and saw the victim lying on the ground.  Once officers arrived they found the male unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head.

At this time there are no known witnesses nor suspect(s).

Investigation into Fatal Crash at 6200 Martin Luther King Boulevard


Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 6200 Martin Luther King Boulevard at 6:50 a.m. on Saturday (October 27).

The identity of the male victim, 22, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant G. Lopez and Officer D. Ashford reported:

The victim was driving a white Nissan Maxima southbound on Martin Luther King Boulevard at the above address when the driver failed to maintain a single lane, left the roadway and struck a tree on the west side of the road.  The victim died at the scene.  It is believed alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.  

No other vehicles nor persons were involved in the crash.

Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 4400 Castor


The fatal shooting of a male that occurred at 4400 Castor at 9:30 p.m. last Friday (October 26) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. Heaverlo and B. Roberts reported:

Around 7 p.m. on Friday evening, officers responded to a family violence call at the above address and determined a female victim had been transported to an area hospital with serious injuries and the suspect had fled the scene.

A few hours later, at 9:30 p.m. officers responded to a shooting at the above address and found a male (previous suspect) lying in the roadway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  The male was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  The shooter, who remained at the scene, stated he feared for his life and for the safety of his family when he shot the male who had returned to the scene after the previous incident.

The investigation is continuing.

Investigation into Fatal Crash at 2100 Roberts


Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 2100 Roberts at 10:30 p.m. last Friday (October 26).

The identity of the male victim, 42, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant D. Griffiths reported:

The driver of a silver Honda Accord was traveling eastbound in the 3300 block of the Gulf Freeway service road at Roberts when the victim, riding a bicycle, attempted to cross all lanes of traffic in front of the Accord.  The driver of the Accord attempted to stop but was unable and struck the victim.  The victim was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  The driver of the Accord remained at the scene, was questioned and released.
