As a part of National Child Abuse Prevention Month, the Department of Family and Protective Services Statewide Intake is hosting three information sessions about how to identify and report child abuse in Texas. The sessions are free and open to the public.

How to Identify and Report Child Abuse in Texas

Have you ever wanted to know what goes into making decisions about child abuse and neglect at the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services? This free presentation will give you vital information on recognizing and reporting child abuse and neglect in Texas. We will discuss the definitions and types of abuse and neglect according to the Texas Family Code. We will also discuss signs and symptoms of child abuse. The presentation will detail prevalence of child abuse in Texas and the basics of reporting to Statewide Intake (the Abuse Hotline).
