According to the Virgin Island Daily News, a League City man died yesterday in a car accident after the Jeep he was driving struck a car before crashing into a holding tank.

Roy Marcus George, 29, and Thomas Quinton Lavell, 35, were on the island of St Croix working for Houston-based Versa Integrity Group on a contract to inspect welds at the island’s Limetree Bay refinery and storage facilities.

According to reports, the driver of the car that was struck told police that George’s Jeep was traveling at high speed when it hit his Isuzu Rodeo and careened into a holding tank, which fell over from the collision’s force.

George leaves behind his wife and two daughters.

To help the family, friends have created a GoFundMe page with the appeal “If you would like to donate diapers, formula or anything else to help this grieving family, please reach out”.

At the time of this report, $5,220 had been raised of the page’s $15,000 target amount.
