The Cedar Park Police Department has identified the victim in Sunday’s deadly shooting as Austin Robert Burroughs (DOB: 9/16/96). Burroughs was active duty military with the U.S. Air Force.

At this time, all other aspects of this incident are still under investigation.

The suspect in this case is described as a thin build, black male, average height, was last seen wearing an orange or red colored hoodie and dark sweatpants.  The suspect left the scene in a grey or silver colored hatchback.  The suspect was armed with a semi-automatic handgun.

RELEASE FROM 1/20/19:

On Sunday, January 20, 2019 at about 9:15 p.m., the Cedar Park Police Department responded to a shots fired call located at 2201 South Lakeline Boulevard, Lakeline Villas Apartments.  A second call was received stating a male subject had been shot.  When officers arrived, they found an adult male deceased with an apparent gunshot wound.  

Early investigation reflects that a male and female had arrived at the apartment complex in their vehicle.  After parking, a male subject approached as the male driver exited the vehicle. The male driver exiting the vehicle was subsequently shot and was deceased on the scene.  

The suspect is described as a thin build, black male, average height, wearing an orange or red colored hoodie and dark sweatpants.  The suspect left the scene in a grey or silver colored hatchback.  The suspect was armed with a semi-automatic handgun.
