HOUSTON - A former Harris County deputy constable accused of sexually assaulting two women while on duty was sentenced Thursday to eight years in prison.

“Rapists posing as law-enforcement officers are still rapists,” Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg said. “While he wore a uniform, he violated the public trust and he violated this woman’s body.”

Brandin M. Glispy, 31, served as a Precinct 6 deputy for less than a year before the accusations led to his termination. Both victims testified against him during the trial, which resulted in him being convicted and sentenced by a jury.

“I couldn’t believe he was doing this to me,” one victim told jurors. “This was someone who was supposed to protect me … he told me he was going to shoot me [if I didn’t do it].”

The first woman to testify described the night in April 2017, when then-Deputy Glispy pulled her over for a traffic stop on Martin Luther King Boulevard.

Upon approaching her car, he immediately told her to get out.

When she did, he told her to put her hands on the trunk and began rubbing her thighs and breasts, and putting his hands into her pants and underwear.

After the assault, Glispy gave the victim his phone number.

The second woman, who testified during the punishment phase of the trial, said that Glispy accosted her in a Popeyes restaurant restroom, cornering her, sexually assaulting her, and even threatening her to perform oral sex. She was able to get away.

“This was an utterly grotesque abuse of power,” Assistant District Attorney Lauren Reeder said. “Brandin Glispy used the power of the badge and his uniform to get what he wanted, when he wanted it. There’s no place in our community for that sort of entitlement.”
