Isaac Walton rose out of bed on Aug. 15 at the Ocean Inn Motel on Seawall Boulevard feeling relaxed. It had been more than eight months since he received a harrowing diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia but Walton’s relentless positivity kept his spirits high. It was the day before his middle daughter’s sixth birthday — an occasion more than worthy of a family trip to Galveston — and he was determined to start the day off right.

Yet, the peaceful summer morning ended with the 32-year-old bloodied and bruised, dropped off at the emergency room by the same Galveston police officers he says assaulted him without cause.

This story has a lot of unanswered questions.

If Walton lives in League City with his wife and children, why is he staying in a motel in Galveston? Is he hiding out?

Why did the OAG-Child Support Division on 7/30/2018 order paternity testing in regard to two of the older children?

Why is it when someone who is accused of committing a crime are said by the news media to have "allegedly" but when it comes to police officers they aren't given the same benefit of doubt?

Given the area where the motel is located, isn't it possible that Walton was beaten up?

Could it be that Walton, and now his wife are seeing the City of Galveston as a cash cow?

Couldn't it be that things happened just as the police officers said it did?

Walton has a criminal history. Do the police officers?

“We are going to find out everything”
the attorneys said... lol they are going to find out they just got dooped by a guy that had them file a lawsuit over what sounds like total BS. It’s 2018 these officers would have had cameras on right? I don’t think a police dept would exonerate them when it has video of misconduct. I’m not investigator but I did stay at a holiday inn express last night and this sounds like some attorneys are agoing to look really stupid in the end of this.

C'mon, y'all, it's a Chron story!! Designed to make you feel sorry for someone, pony up publicity for the attorney, and generate clicks to their miserable website. Of course it doesn't make sense.

I have one more question. What was he being arrested for other than resisting arrest?

So they harmed him for his own protection? Maybe it would have been better to leave him alone. If there is no bodycam footage I would be inclined to find the city liable for damages.

I bet Officer Colin Murphy had something to do with it! Google him! He was fired from Webster for the same type of behavior!
