Authorities fatally shot a person at a home in the Heights Monday while executing a warrant, law enforcement officials said.

Harris County Sheriff's Office deputies were working with the Gulf Coast Violent Offender Fugitive Task Force when the person was shot 10:55 a.m. at a home is in the 700 block of East 12 1/2 Street. the sheriff's office said.

Deputies assisted in serving the warrant and discharged their weapons, Houston police said.

No further information was immediately available.
