Latest Media Release from the La Porte Police department concerning  downed aircraft.

At 9:00 this morning, July 15, 2018, the La Porte Police Department received a report of a downed aircraft, in the approximate 11,000 block of North H Street.

There are two confirmed fatalities. The aircraft is a small experimental type plane. The aircraft was making an approach to the north side of the La Porte Municipal Airport when it went down in a pipeline easement. No ground structures were damaged or other persons injured.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is in scene and conducting the crash investigation.

All follow up questions should be referred to DPS,  NTSB and FAA who are taking over the investigation.
