On June 13, 2018 deputies with Constable Mark Herman's Office responded to Target located in the 19500 block of the North Freeway in reference to a shoplifter. As deputies arrived they located the suspect exiting the business and attempted to detain him.

The suspect fled on foot leading deputies on a brief foot chase. Constable Deputies utilized a department issued Taser to subdue the suspect who became combative.  The male was identified as Steven Chuma who was found to be in possession of over $400.00 worth of stolen Target merchandise. All stolen merchandise was returned.

“After receiving medical treatment, Steven Harold Chuma was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Theft and Evading Arrest. His bond was set at $1,500.00 out of the County Court 03.”  –Constable Mark Herman
