On February 12, 2018, at about 9:46 p.m., officers were dispatched to a call for police at Umphress and South Buckner Road regarding a shooting. 

Upon arrival, officers observed two individuals had been shot.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the actual shooting took place in the 1800 block of Ormond Drive and that the victims drove to the call location of Umphress and South Buckner.

According to witnesses, a dark colored vehicle with 4 unknown Latin males drove up to the victim’s vehicle and fired multiple shots, striking both victims.

The suspects fled the location and remain at large.

There were two other occupants in the victim’s vehicle at the time of the offense.

One was transported to headquarters for questioning, the other fled the location before officers arrival.

Both victims were transported to Baylor Hospital by Dallas Fire Rescue. 

One of the victims, a 14-year-old Latin female, was pronounced deceased. 

The second victim, a 16-year-old Latin male, is in stable condition. 

The victims’ information will not be released because they are juveniles. 

A murder offense and three aggravated assault offenses are documented on case number 031884-2018. 

The investigation is ongoing.
