Three Jailed in Santa Fe Theft Ring Bust

On 10-15-2013 Santa Fe police began investigating the theft of an All-Terrain 4 wheeler taken from a
residence in the City of Santa Fe. During the course of the investigation two suspects were identified
using security footage from the homeowner documenting the theft.

The suspects were identified as Robert Leonard McBee, 28 years old out of Hitchcock and 20 year old
Mathew Miller also from Hitchcock.

Arrest warrants were obtained by Santa Fe police Criminal Investigations Division the same day.

Investigators and officers from assisting agencies and units, located and arrested both McBee and Miller
without incident in the 6900 Block of West Holliday in Hitchcock.

A continued investigative effort led to the execution of two search warrants in the 800 and 900 Blocks of
Volney ST in LaMarque. As a result of these warrants an additional suspect was arrested and was
identified as 36 year old Ronald Leslie Bordelon of LaMarque.

The search warrants resulting in the recovery of approximately $125,000.00 in stolen vehicles, including
a Cadillac Escalade, Mercedes Benz and numerous stolen 4 wheelers that had been stolen from Santa
Fe, Galveston County and Hitchcock.

In addition to the stolen vehicles, Santa Fe CID seized an additional Cadillac Escalade and a second
Mercedes Benz as well as other property believed to be purchased with proceeds from criminal activity.
These seized items will be held pending Asset Forfeiture proceedings facilitated by the Galveston County
District Attorney’s Office.

Robert Leonard McBee, currently out of prison and on parole for thefts is being held on the following charges; – Theft >$1500 < $20,000.00 and Engaging in Organized Crime with a combined bond of $250,000.00.

Mathew Miller is being held for Theft >$1500 <$20,000 as well as Engaging in Organized Crime with a bond of $80,000.00

Ronald Leslie Bordelon is being held on Theft >$100,000 < $200,000 and Engaging in Organized Crime and his bond is $260,000.00.

This investigation was a joint effort between the Santa Fe police, Galveston County Sheriff’s Office including GCSO CID, GCSO Special Crimes Units, GCSO Identification Division, Galveston County Auto Crimes Task Force, LaMarque Police and the District Attorney’s Office.

The investigation is on-going and additional charges and arrests are expected.
