The February, 2013 issue of The Police News print edition marked our 10th year of publication. Notice on our front page, Volumn X - Number 1. We are proud to say that throughout our ten years we have never missed publishing and distributing our paper, even during and after Hurricane Ike in 2008.
Hurricane Ike did hurt us however, just like it did every other business based on Galveston Island. Many of our advertisers were permanently destroyed, several took months and years to rebuild and recover. Then Ike was followed by a diminished national economy. Our paper downsized considerably and we are still trying to pull ourselves back up by our boot strings, so to speak.
Since we are totally supported by advertisers, when they aren't doing good, they don't have money to advertise. Of course our story is that when they aren't doing good is the very time they should be advertising. But that's hard to sell when there's very little cash in the till.
If you are a business owner or manager, we would sure like to talk with you about coming onboard this very popular publication, probably the most popular monthly publication in Galveston, read online all over the country.
We have found that the publication of Wanted Fugitives is a very popular part of The Police News, so in this edition we have placed them on the front page, above the fold. As we suspected, they went flying off the racks at a much higher rate than ever.
Our front page is pictured below. Just click on it and the entire February edition will open for you to read. Please let us know how you like us. Suggestion, comments, critisizim, or whatever, we pay attention to it all. Just let us know. And call us if you wish advertising rates. (409) 632-0082
