Police sergeant suspended, demoted Jan. 24, 2013
An Austin police sergeant has been suspended and demoted after it was determined that he had not reported in a timely and accurate fashion an incident in which he used his foot to push a handcuffed person, said police chief Art Acevedo. Sgt. William Lefebvre, called to assist in an incident at a shopping center on Aug. 8, used the bottom of his foot to move a suspect further into a patrol car, striking him in the chest, Acevedo said. "That tactic was not justified or objectively reasonable and (he) failed to report it in a timely manner," the chief said. |
