Motive and Suspect Remain Unknown in Houston Woman’s Murder

Crime Stoppers and investigators with the Houston Police Department's Homicide Division are searching for the shooter responsible for the January 10th murder of twenty-nine year old Erika Moreno.  Moreno was shot and killed while driving her vehicle in Southwest Houston.

On the night of January 10, 2013, at approximately 11:15 pm, Erika Moreno was driving near the 5400 block of Birdwood in Houston.  An unidentified shooter began firing a weapon at her vehicle.  In an attempt to flee the area, Moreno placed her vehicle in reverse, careening into a grassy easement on Renwick and Birdwood, where she died from wounds sustained during the gun fire.  Witnesses in the area report seeing a late model, black Chevy Tahoe fleeing eastbound on Birdwood, turning north on Braesmont.  The identity of the shooter remains unknown.

After an initial investigation, authorities report no known motive for the crime.  Individuals with information about the incident and the identity of the suspect are urged to make an anonymous report to Crime Stoppers.
