Suspect Arrested in Ruth St. Murder
Saturday, August 9th 2014, Detectives with the Homicide Division obtained an
arrest warrant for Jessie Salazar (10-02-1995).
were informed that Salazar had turned himself in to the Nueces County Jail on
Monday afternoon at approximately 3:15 p.m. His bond was set at $250,000.00

At 6:39 AM, Saturday
morning, Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to a suspicious person call at
a home located at 2222 Ruth Street.
15 year old male called police after he went outside of his house and saw a man
lying on the ground. Officers found a 29 year old male victim down a driveway on
the east side of the house underneath the stairway leading to an upstairs
apartment. The victim had multiple gunshot wounds and was dead at the scene.
were able to contact several witnesses who heard gunshots in the area at about
10:00 PM on Friday night. Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to a call for
shots fired at 10:08 PM on Friday night in that area and did recover an unfired
bullet, and at this time it is unknown if that evidence is related to the
homicide. Officers did not see the victim at that time due to the darkness and
the victim’s position.
this time Corpus Christi Police Homicide Detective are investigating this crime
and no suspects have been arrested.
