The 2-year old toddle rushed to a Houston hospital from League City Tuesday after sustaining injuries attributed to his father, has died of the injuries.

The Police News learned this afternoon of the child's death.

The father, 25-year old Derek Wells is in custody in the Galveston County Jail and may not face a Capital Murder charge.  However that will be determine by the Galveston County District Attorney who may present the case to a Grand Jury.

Once again a tragedy has played out. Some stupid kid having children. Leave the young ones alone!!! There are many many places to take a child so they will get the love and attention they deserve. LEAVE THE CHILDREN ALONE!! Sounds like the kid Derek will be taken to where he belongs!

Oh my gosh. How sad that this little one never had a chance at happiness. He only knew the horrid life his sperm donor provided and took away. So sad.
Personally, I always feel empty knowing ANOTHER baby has been robbed of a good life, when I know there are many loving homes that would take them in an instant. I personally would have taken this child into my home. But instead, he got his head smashed by his "daddy". Frickin' great. Fry that $&!!?@!

my heart breaks to heart these stories, these heartless people should be sent straight to a holding cell where they r tortured and suffer just like the poor innocent defenseless baby, may you go straight to hell POS
