Baytown Police released surveillance photos of a smash and grab robbery at the San Jacinto Mall, showing an armed robber threatening employees with a gun while two others stuffed jewelry into bags.

The robbery happened Monday just before noon at Gordon's Jewelry inside the mall.

The video showed the robbers smashing jewelry cases with unknown objects. A female employee could also be seen in the video, hurriedly making a phone call before one of the robbers pointed a gun at her and told her to put up her hands.

After the robbery, police said the bandits ran into the mall. Officers arrived within minutes but were unable to catch up with them.

Employees and customers who were inside the store at the time were uninjured.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Baytown Police Department at 281-422-8371 or Crime Stoppers at 281-427-TIPS.
