Galveston County Sheriff’s Special Crimes detectives arrested three La Marque residents Thursday morning in connection with an ongoing investigation into illegal drug sales.
Continuing probes into narcotics activity led detectives to identify a location where they believed illicit drugs were being manufactured and sold. As a result of the Special Crimes Unit, LaMarque and Galveston Police Department’s investigative efforts, a search warrant issued by the 405th Judicial District Court of Judge Michelle Slaughter.
The search warrants were served shortly after 8:00 Thursday morning at three apartments in the complex located in the 800 block of Hudler in LaMarque.
Sheriff’s detectives seized about 20.1 grams of cocaine, over a pound of marijuana and cocaine paraphernalia. 16 grams of the cocaine was individually packaged typically indicating the sale of illegal narcotics.

Sedrick Renard Jackson, 32 was charged with Manufacturing/Delivery of a controlled substance and possession of Marijuana and remains in the Galveston County Jail in lieu of $310,000.00 bail. Robert Birdwell, 32, was charged with possession of marijuana and remains in the county jail in lieu of $2500.00 bail. Also arrested but not booked was Codye Nixon, 32 charged with possession of marijuana.
He was released due a medical condition and will be arrested at a later date.
