GALVESTON, TX -- A Galveston business owner was killed this weekend in what appears to be a carjacking, and police are looking for clues to find out who is behind his death.

Galveston police officer Ernesto Ticas was on patrol in the 3800 block of Broadway when he found Juan Navarro in the parking lot of the Panaderia Navarro Bakery. He had suffered severe injuries and was taken to the University of Texas Medical Branch's John Sealy Hospital where he died at 8 p.m. Saturday. Navarro owned Navarro Bakery, at 3801 Broadway Street.

 He was 59 years old.

Police said Navarro's vehicle was missing from the scene. They found it Sunday afternoon near the intersection of 37th and Avenue M.
