A meth lab bust in Tarkington led to the arrest of five suspects Friday, according to the Liberty County Sheriff's Office. Officials were acting on a tip they had received the day before.

Authorities said an active meth lab was in operation at a residence just east of Cleveland, south of State Hwy 105 E. Deputies also recovered a number of stolen guns, tools and other items.  The items found are helping authorities clear up a handful of recent burglaries in the area.

Clinton James Laudermill, 33, Jason Karl Hill, 38, Toni Danielle Lang, 28, Tonia Kay Small, 44, and Elisha Louise Blanchard, 33, were all arrested and charged with possession and transportation of chemicals with intent to manufacture a controlled substance, according to Liberty County officials.

Liberty County Sheriff's Office spokesman Capt. Ken DeFoor said officials are not sure how long the meth lab had been in operation. Two grams of finished product was recovered from the site, along with chemicals and tools needed to manufacture the meth.

DeFoor said that the investigation is ongoing at the site and more charges against the group of suspects are possible as more stolen goods are cleared.

No bond has been set for the suspects, who are still in Liberty County custody.
