EL CAMPO - Your credit card has not been declined and, despite Caller ID, you are not talking to anyone from the El Campo Pizza Hut.

You're actually talking to a would-be thief, El Campo Police Chief Terry Stanphill said last week, issuing a warning about the telephone scam making its way through the El Campo community.
 
"The victim receives a phone call from someone who identifies themselves as an employee of EC Pizza Hut," he said. "Caller ID shows the number for EC Pizza Hut. The caller tells the victim, the credit card used to purchase a pizza was declined and asks for a different or new card number."
