Wednesday about 6:30 pm, an Alvin PD officer observed a white 2007 Chevy Impala run stop signs at two different intersections. The officer activated his emergency lights and stopped the vehicle in the 700 block of W. Adoue Street in Alvin.
The officer made contact with the driver, Christopher Cantu, 19, and found he could not produce a driver's license or proof of insurance. Two passengers in the car were identified as Anthony Lopez 17, and Mathew Bourque 17. The officer also detected the aroma of burnt marijuana and that all three appeared to be wearing what appeared to be gang clothing.
Cantu was taken into custody for No Drivers License and No Insurance, and Bourque, who was determined to be impaired, was also arrested.
A subsequent search of the vehicle by officers and APD K9 "Ira" turned up two "blunts" (marijuana cigars) and scattered marijuana residue inside the vehicle prior to the vehicle being towed.
Cantu, Bourque and Lopez were then all charged with Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia and transported to the Alvin Police Headquarters where they were booked into jail.
