Good Morning Watchdogs!

I wanted to update you with criminal activity in the area.

Early this morning (Saturday 05/12/2018) Officer Cowart with Jamaica Beach PD assisted Galveston Officers responding to a call of some car burglaries in the Pirates' Cove area off of 12 Mile Road.

After an aggressive search for the suspect, Officers were able to capture him without incident.

The suspect has been linked to the Jamaica Beach break-ins and those in Palm Beach and Pirates' Beach as well.

The suspect is a drifter and would enter unlocked cars and houses.

Every summer we have encounters like this one.

There will be more, so PLEASE lock your car and your houses when you leave.

Have a great weekend and it is a true honor to serve you!

Brad Heiman
Police Chief

Although the perpetrators name was not given in the above report we searched the jail records for a person arrested for Auto Burglary on 05/12/2018 and found only the one listed below.  The inmates mug shot had not yet been posted so only this information was available.
It has not been verified that this is the person connected with the above report from Jamaica Beach Police.

HALL, LONZIE EUGENE
21 YEARS OLD
Race / Sex:      BLACK / MALE
Arrest Date:      5/12/2018
Arrest Location: 3422 Treasure Circle
Charge    Status    Docket #    Bond Amount
BURGLARY OF VEHICLE    AWAITING TRIAL        CASH OR SURETY $2,500.00
THEFT OF FIREARM    AWAITING TRIAL    18-JP2-0383    CASH OR SURETY $2,000.00

Editors Note:  We find that in small villages and cities the police departments, rather than issue press releases to the area media, will merely post criminal activity on local social media in a very informal manner and in a general format without detailed information. These alerts are helpful to the local population so they may be aware of the activity in their area, but of course names, descriptions and mug shots of these offenders is always good information for the residents to have also.
