On March 19, 2018, a deputy with Constable
Mark Herman’s Office conducted a traffic stop in the 6100 block of Highland
Branch Drive. The driver was identified
as Keith Ramirez. The deputy smelled an
alcoholic beverage inside of the vehicle and asked Ramirez to exit to perform
further investigation on the driver.
Ramirez refused to obey commands from the deputy and became
uncooperative. The deputy moved toward the car door to open it.
At this time, Ramirez opened the
door, purposefully slammed it into the deputy’s arm and shoulder, knocking him
back and causing pain. The deputy quickly regained control of the situation and
Keith Ramirez was detained. Located in
the vehicle were 2 plastic baggies containing a clear crystal like substance, believed
to be illegal narcotics, which were turned in to the Harris County Forensic
Science Center for analysis.
“Keith Ramirez was arrested,
charged with the Assault of a Peace Officer and booked into the Harris County
Jail. His bond is set at $20,000.00 out of the 351st
District Court. Additional charges may be filed once lab results are obtained.”
