On 12-13-2017 at 10:42 A.M. Officers made contact with Russell Jones (57 YOA male) in the 1000 block of NE 20th in regards to a warrant arrest. Jones was known to have an outstanding warrant for burglary of a building and was placed under arrest. The warrant stemmed from an incident that was reported on 11-25-2017 where officers were told that someone had been entering a vacant building at that location and stealing furniture.


On 12-13-2017 at 1:10 P.M. Officers responded to the 400 block of Graham in regards to a suspicious activity complaint. Officers made contact with Gracie Carter (60 YOA female) who exited a building carrying cut wire and wire cutters. Officers made contact with Phyllis Eskue (61 YOA female) who was at the location with Carter. Eskue told officers that she knew Carter was stealing wire. Carter and Eskue were both placed under arrest and charged with burglary.


On 12-13-2017 at 3:32 P.M. Paris Police Officers and Lamar County Sheriff’s Deputies executed a search warrant in the 10 block of CR 33970. Officers made contact with Jimmy Carr (50 YOA male) who became combative and struck an officer in the face with his fists and was placed under arrest. After being placed into handcuffs Carr kicked an officer. Carr was charged with assaulting a public servant. The officer sustained minor injuries.


On 12-13-2017 at 2:17 P.M. Officers spoke with a complainant at the police department in regards to a burglary of a motor vehicle and burglary of a residence complaint which was said to have occurred in the 700 block of SW 41st. Officers were told that a possible known suspect had entered the complainant’s vehicle and took a firearm. Officers were also told that the same possible known suspect entered the complainant’s residence and took several tools. The investigation is ongoing.


On 12-13-2017 at 3:07 P.M. Officers responded to a burglary complaint in the 600 block of Washington Street. Officers were told that an unknown suspect had entered the residence and took a cell phone and 6 rings. The investigation is ongoing.


On 12-13-2017 at 6:38 P.M. Officers spoke with a complainant by telephone who advised that his debit card information had been used by an unknown suspect to conduct a transaction in Paris on 09-24-2017. Officers were told that the complainant had not been to Paris and that the debit card had been in his possession the entire time. The investigation is ongoing.


Paris Police responded to 84 calls for service and arrested 8 persons over the past 24 hours ending at 6:00 A.M. on December 14, 2017.
