Overnight Updates


Shooting 4500 Metropolitan Avenue

 

On October 14, 2017, at 8:56 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 4500 block of Metropolitan Avenue regarding a shooting. Upon arrival officers discovered one Victim, a Black male 45 years old was shot. Preliminary information revealed that an unknown Black male suspect fired a weapon at a group of people. As a result the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder area and was transported to Baylor Hospital by Dallas Fire Rescue. The suspect remains at large. This is all the information available at this time. This offense is documented on case number 235625- 2017.

 

Shooting 5600 E. Grand Avenue

 

On October 14, 2017 at about 5:55 p.m. officers were dispatched to a shooting in the 1100 block of S. Beacon St. Upon arrival officers discovered one individual was shot. Preliminary information is a Latin male was shot in the leg by an unknown suspect who was driving by in a vehicle. The victim was transported to Baylor Hospital by Dallas Fire Rescue with a non-life threatening injury. The suspect remains at large. This offense is documented on case number 235506-2017.

 

Shooting 13030 Audelia Rd.

 

On October 14, 2017, at about 11:28 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 13030 Audelia Road regarding a shooting. Upon arrival officers discovered one victim, a Latin male 31 years old was shot. Preliminary information revealed one victim was shot in the back by two unknown suspects Latin male suspects during a physical altercation between two parties. The suspects fled the location prior to officers arrival. The victim was transported to Presbyterian Hospital in stable condition. An Aggravated Assault offense is documented on case number 235727-2017. The investigation is ongoing. 

 

Shooting on Pembroke Avenue

 

On October 14, 2017, at about 10:59 p.m. Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Pembroke Avenue regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, officers observed one person was shot. Preliminary information determines the victim was shot by an unknown suspect. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the torso and was transported to Methodist Central Hospital in critical condition. The motive is undetermined at this time and the suspect(s) described as two latin Males 17-20 years old are still at large. This offense is documented on case number 235706-2017. The investigation is ongoing.

Update I 35 and Eight Street Incident

On October 14, 2017, at about 6:25 a.m., officers were dispatched to a call for police regarding an individual walking in the center lane of traffic at Interstate 35 and Eighth Street. Several 911 callers stated a male was running in and out of traffic. Dallas officers responded and made contact with the individual. The individual was taken into custody for psychiatric evaluation and transported to Charleton Hospital. It was noted that motorists crashed trying to avoid striking the individual. Dallas Sheriff’s Office has responded and is working the crash part of this incident. Please refer all crash related request from this incident to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office.
