               On Sunday October 1st 2017 at approximately 10:30pm, the Galveston Police Department responded to the 1200 block of 21st Street in Galveston, Texas (Gulf Breeze Apartments) in relation to a weapons offense.  When Officers arrived on scene, they viewed Anthony Maupin (44)       suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the lower abdomen.

 

Galveston EMS transported Maupin from that location to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas.  Maupin was later pronounced deceased.  

 

Detectives with the Galveston Police Department developed a suspect identified as Bryan Lee Bell (19).  Maupin was in a relationship with Bell’s mother, who lived at the location of the Homicide.  It was believed that Bell had fled from Galveston after the shooting incident.

 

On October 4th 2017, Officers with the Galveston Police Department placed Bryan Lee Bell under arrest for the offense of Homicide, with assistance from the Galveston County District Attorney’s Office.  Bell’s bond was set at $250,000 and he is currently in custody at the Galveston County Jail.

Punk kids today think violence is the answer to all their problems. Condolences to Anthiny's family, Sorry for your loss and I hope the young punk lives out his life behind bars.
