August 7, 2017,

 

            On 08-04-2017 at 3:53 P.M. Officers responded to the 3500 block of Lamar Ave in regards to a shoplifter complaint where the suspect had taken several items of clothing and a pair of shoes. The suspect fled the scene prior to officers arriving. Officers located the suspect in the 3800 block of Lamar Ave at which point the suspect, David Holt (25 YOA male) fled from officers. Holt was captured after a short foot pursuit. Holt was charged with theft and evading arrest. Due to previous convictions both charges were enhanced to felony charges. (No photo was available for Holt)


 

            On 08-04-2017 at 11:47 P.M. Officers responded to a burglary complaint in the 500 block of SE 33rd. Officers made contact with Gary Sewell (59 YOA male) a short distance down the road and observed Sewell placing a cooler on the top of his vehicle. The complainant told officers that the suspect was observed leaving the complainant’s garage with items in his hands. The complainant identified the cooler as being the complainant’s as well as a power washer. Sewell was placed under arrest for burglary of a residence.


 

            On 08-05-2017 at 9:52 A.M. Officers responded to the 2500 block of N Main in regards to an assault. Officers observed Khalid Williams (22 YOA male) dragging a female by the hair. Officers were told that Williams had also thrown the victim to the ground and kicked her. Williams was placed under arrest for assault family violence and the charge was later enhanced to a felony due to a previous conviction.


 

On 08-06-2017 at 8:06 A.M. Officers responded to the 700 block of SE 19th in regards to a warrant arrest. Officers made contact with Don Aubrey (47 YOA male) who was found to have an outstanding felony warrant for tampering or fabricating physical evidence out of Hopkins County and a felony warrant for evading arrest or detention with a vehicle out of Delta County. Aubrey was placed under arrest for the warrants.


 

            On 08-05-2017 at 10:00 P.M. Officers responded to the 500 block of SW 19th in regards to a narcotics violation complaint. Officers made contact with Allen Giles (29 YOA male) who was found to have an outstanding felony warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon out of Dallas County. Giles was placed under arrest for the warrant and an on-view misdemeanor charge.  


 

            On 08-04-2017 at 8:08 A.M. Officers responded to the 1300 block of W Houston in regards to a burglary of a residence complaint. Officers were told that an unknown suspect had forced entry into the residence and took several items including a DVD player and assorted coins. The investigation is ongoing.


 

            On 08-05-2017 at 12:12 A.M. Officers responded to the 400 block of NE 25th in regards to a burglary of a residence. Officers were told that an unknown suspect had entered the complainant’s residence and took a television. The investigation is ongoing.


 

            On 08-05-2017 at 7:42 A.M. Officers located a Ford Ranger Pick-up in the 3800 block of Lake Crook Road which had been abandoned. Upon checking the vehicle officers were made aware that the vehicle had been reported stolen from Bowie County Texas. The investigation is ongoing.


 

            On 08-05-2017 at 9:30 A.M. Officers responded to a theft complaint in the 1300 block of Maple. Officers were told that an unknown suspect had taken a dump trailer from that location. The trailer was later recovered in the 1100 block of N Main after it was observed sitting on a lot at that location. The investigation is ongoing.


 

            On 08-06-2017 at 1:32 P.M. Officers responded to the 700 block of SE 8th in regards to a burglary of a residence complaint. Officers were told that while the tenant was away, an unknown suspect entered the residence and took numerous items including a television and a mattress. The investigation is ongoing.  


 

            Paris Police responded to 273 calls for service and arrested 14 persons over the three day weekend ending at 6:00 A.M. on August 7, 2017.
