Man Arrested for Aggravated Sexual Assault

On March 1, 2017, The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to the 10600 Block of Royal Adrian in Conroe, Texas, in reference to a welfare check. Upon arrival, Deputies learned that a 44 year old white female had been sexually assaulted and tortured.  Due to the victim’s injuries, she was transported to Herman Memorial Hospital in The Woodlands, Texas for medical treatment. During the investigation, Detectives learned that sometime during the early morning hours of March 1, 2017, the victim’s dogs began barking.  The victim informed Detectives that when she went to investigate why the dogs were barking, she was struck in the back of the head by an unknown object, which rendered her unconscious.

When the victim awoke, she found herself in the garage, bound with extension cords. At that time, the victim recognized her attacker as Gregory Kocian, who was a family friend.  According to the victim, during the next several hours, Kocian brutally tortured, beat and sexually assaulted her.  The victim advised Detectives that during the assault she was choked, cut numerous times, stabbed, and threatened with death for nearly six hours.

During the assault, the victim claimed she attempted to break free from Kocian, only to receive more abuse and torture as a result of her failed attempts to get away.  A little after 6:00 am on March 1, 2017, Kocian left the victim’s residence, at which time the victim was able to escape to a neighbor’s house where she was able to contact the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

On March 1, 2017, an arrest warrant was issued for Kocian for Aggravated Sexual Assault.  On March 3, 2017, Montgomery County Sheriff's Office SWAT and the U.S. Marshal’s Office arrested Kocian in Southwest Houston.  Kocian is currently in the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Jail charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault with a $1,000,000.00 bond.

Montgomery County Sheriff's Rand Henderson extends a debt of gratitude to his office and the U.S. Marshal’s Service for taking another dangerous offender out of our community.
