Twenty-Two Year Old Texas City Woman Dies After Vehicle CrashTEXAS CITY, TX (March 6, 2017, 3:20 PM): A 22 year old Texas City woman was traveling westbound in the 3100 block of Palmer Highway at approximately 10:30am when her vehicle left the roadway and struck a wooden utility pole. In the passenger seat was a 21 year old male passenger. When the vehicle struck the pole, both airbags deployed.
The driver complained of pain "all over" her body and loss of vision. Both passengers were transported to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston for treatment. Monday afternoon, police were notified by hospital personnel that the female driver had died as a result of her injuries. The medical examiner's office will complete an autopsy to determined the exact cause of death.
Police are not releasing the identity of the driver until her next-of-kin can be notified.
