             On 03-04-2017 at 7:43 P.M. Paris Police made contact with Anne-Marie Eakles (22 YOA female) in the 1400 block of S Church as a result of a traffic stop. Eakles was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and was placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance.


 

            On 03-05-2017 at 4:45 A.M. Paris Police responded to a security check in the 3700 block of Lamar Ave in regards to a possible intoxicated driver in a white Ford F250 pickup. Officers located the vehicle in the 3800 block of Lamar Ave and made contact with the driver, Matthew Golightly (30 YOA male). After initial contact, Golightly fled the scene and attempted to evade officers. Golightly lost control of his vehicle and came to a stop in the 4200 block of Lamar Ave. Golightly was found to be intoxicated and was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated and other misdemeanor charges. Due to previous convictions, Golightly’s DWI charge was enhanced to a felony.


 

            On 03-03-2017 at 2:26 P.M. Paris Police responded to a report of sexual assault of a child. Officers were told that a child under the age of 17 had been sexually assaulted by an adult male five to six years before. The investigation is ongoing.


 

            On 03-04-2017 at 1:19 A.M. Paris Police responded to the 1400 block of NE 27th in regards to a disturbance. Officers were told that a known male had assaulted a female while allegedly displaying a handgun. The investigation is ongoing.


 

            On 03-04-2017 at 9:43 A.M. Paris Police responded to Paris Regional Medical Center in regards to a gunshot victim which was said to have occurred in the George Wright Homes area. Officers were told that the victim had received a gunshot wound to the lower leg during what was described as an attempted robbery. The investigation is ongoing.


 

            On 03-05-2017 at 7:13 P.M. Paris Police responded to a shooting which was said to have occurred in the 600 block of E Hickory. Officers were told that an unknown suspect had fired shots at the victim as the victim walked down the road. The victim was not struck by the shots. The investigation is ongoing.  


 

            Paris Police responded to 268 calls for service and arrested 20 persons over the three day weekend ending at 6:00 A.M. on March 6, 2017.
