DRIVER Arrested, Charged in Fatal Crash at 9900 North Freeway

Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal hit-and-run crash at 9900 North Freeway (North Interstate Highway 45) service road about 3:25 a.m. on Saturday (March 4).

The suspect, Ricardo Segovia (H/m, 24), is charged with failure to stop and render aid in the 339th State District Court and driving while intoxicated in Harris County Criminal Court #9.  A photo of Segovia is attached to this news release.

The male victim, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Salazar and Officer J. Crisler reported:

The suspect, Segovia, was driving a purple Mercedes C320 northbound at the above address when he struck the victim, who was walking in a moving lane of traffic.  Segovia fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim.  A witness called 9-1-1 and followed Segovia first to the parking lot of a McDonald's at the North Freeway and West Road and then to a private residence in the 14000 block of Stoneshire Street.  Responding patrol officers arrested Segovia at the residence.

Comments:
I am so glad that someone witnessed this and safely followed this pond scum sucking fodder and was able to get him arrested. I hope he sits in jail the rest of his life for being such a sorry excuse for a human.
