On Thursday, 03/02/2017, at approximately 5:50 A.M. Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the report of a deceased male in the shopping center parking lot, at 4683 W FM 1960, at Veterans Memorial Dr. When Deputies arrived on the scene, they located the body of a male, later identified as Mario Bahamondes H/M 35 YOA, lying in the parking lot, covered with blood.

Mr. Bahamondes suffered an apparent gunshot wound to the chest. Deputies located Mr. Bahamondes’ cellular telephone and a fired shell casing several feet from his body. Investigators, with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Homicide Unit, responded to the scene. They learned from Mr. Bahamondes’ family that he left their residence, on foot, at approximately 5:00 A.M. and was walking to the intersection of FM 1960 and Veterans Memorial to catch a METRO bus to work. Investigators believe the unknown suspect(s) killed Mr. Bahamondes while trying to rob him.

The murder of Mr. Bahamondes is being investigated by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit. If anyone has any information regarding the murder of Mr. Bahamondes, they are asked to contact the Homicide Unit at 713-274-9100 or call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS(8477).
