For Immediate Release

Texas Children’s Hospital along with Safe Kids Greater Houston has announced that the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office will be a site for free car seat inspections.

The reason for car seat safety inspections is simple, but important: four out of five car seats are not installed properly.  Sometimes car seats are too loose, using the LATCH system or seatbelt incorrectly, and/or the harness is not being used properly.

Texas Children’s Hospital along with Safe Kids Greater Houston Coalition will be hosting a free Child Safety Car Seat Inspection the first Wednesday of each month from 9:30 a.m. to noon starting on Feb. 5 at the Gus George Law Enforcement Academy, 1521 Eugene Heimann Circle in Richmond.

Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will be available to inspect the child’s car seat for installation and proper use.

Call 281-238-1536 or email to schedule appointments. For more information, visit for information or call 832-822-2277.
