GALVESTON, TX – Galveston County Criminal District Attorney Jack Roady announced that today a jury in the 56th District Court sentenced Moises Donjuan to 5 years in prison, after finding him guilty of the Third Degree felony offense of Felony Driving While Intoxicated.
Prosecutors Tiffany Alfred and Kasey Vandeaver presented evidence to the all woman jury about Donjuan’s reckless driving that led to his September 9, 2012, stop by a Galveston County Sheriff’s Deputy for traffic violations; he was subsequently arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.
The jury also heard testimony regarding the results of Donjuan’s blood analysis, which registered Donjuan’s alcohol concentration level at .16, twice the legal limit in Texas.
Prosecutors also presented evidence of Donjuan’s two prior convictions for driving while intoxicated in 1997 and 2006, both in Galveston County.
Donjuan is also being held in the Galveston County Jail for ICE authorities.
