Job description: Police Officer
The City of Westworth Village is currently accepting applications for Police Officer. Duties include but are not limited to the protection and well being of the citizens of Westworth Village, enforcement of federal laws, state laws, and city ordinances. Make arrests when applicable, respond to emergency situations when needed (including medical and fire calls), communicate well, work as a responsible team member and use critical thinking to problem solve.
Compensation:
The City of Westworth Village offers a competitive and comprehensive benefits package, with a starting annual salary of $43,309 as of 10/01/2012. An additional $2000 annually can be obtained once the person obtains their National Emergency Medical Responder License. Those already licensed with this or higher certification can submit for approval. Certification must be current and active.
Education, training, experience:
Candidate:
-must be 21 years of age at time of application.
-must be a United States Citizen.
-must have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
-must have and maintain a valid Texas driver license.
-must currently be licensed by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) and be in good standing.
-must be able to pass the National Registry Exam to obtain EMR License, unless already certified.
-must be free of mental/physical defect(s) that would prevent that person from performing the duties of a Police Officer.
-must pass a writen test and oral review board.
-must pass an extensive background check, psychological, physical, and drug screening.
-must be willing to work shift work. We currently work 12 hr shifts.
