Released by the City of Lufkin
Special to The Police News

LUFKIN/ANGELINA COUNTY - The City of Lufkin Municipal Court and the Lufkin Police Department are participating in the Annual Great Texas Warrant Round Up. Numerous counties, justices of the peace, and municipalities of all sizes will participate in the roundup statewide.

The roundup targets thousands of defendants with outstanding warrants for traffic, parking, city ordinance, penal code violations and higher charges from more than 280 participating jurisdictions.

Officers from the Lufkin Police Department will team up with the Lufkin City Marshal's Office to go out and serve as many warrants as possible. The warrant sweep will be conducted from Saturday, March 2, 2013 through March 10th, 2013. The Lufkin Municipal Court will be open on Saturday, March 2, 2013, from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m., and 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. on March 4, 2013 through Wednesday, March 6, 2013. Regular business hours will resume as of Thursday, March 7, 2013.

Individuals with outstanding warrants may voluntarily appear, in person, at the Lufkin Municipal Court, 300 E. Shepherd Ave., if they wish to avoid the embarrassment of being arrested at home, work, or any other place that they may be found. Those who voluntarily appear will not be arrested. However, if any defendants fail to voluntarily appear, they will be arrested. In the event that a defendant is arrested while driving, his/her car may be impounded and incur additional towing and storage fees.

There are several options to pay any outstanding warrants and fees. You may pay the fine in full in the following manner: (1) with a credit card online at http://cityoflufkin.com/click2gov.htm; (2) by mail - via cashier check or money order only; (3) or in person at the Lufkin Municipal Court by cash, money order or credit card. No personal checks will be accepted. No credit cards will be accepted if you arrested.

To find out if you have outstanding warrants with the City of Lufkin, please call the Municipal Court at (936) 633-0315. Se habla espanol.
