GALVESTON - Thursday Galveston police were dispatched to the UTMB Emergency Room to investigate an assault that had occurred at 3116 Ave S.
At the hospital they spoke with William Shuttleworth, who advised that his boyfriend, Alfred Stewart, had assaulted him. He said his boyfriend became upset when he fell asleep while watching a movie and hit him several times in the head with his fist.
Shuttleworth was then driven to the hospital by Stewart for treatment of a laceration above his eye. He said he did not remember what had happened during the assault.
Stewart was charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury - Family Violence and booked into jail under a $25,000 bond.
