HOUSTON - Police shot a burglar in north Houston after officers said he attempted to run them down on Saturday.

Houston police responded to reports of a burglary in progress at a business on West Greens Road and Northborough Drive around 11:15 p.m.  When officers arrived at the scene, they caught a man in the process of burglarizing the business, investigators said.

The man then jumped into a stolen white van and tried to run over the officers in the parking lot, police said.  One of the officers pulled his weapon and fired at the van.
