06:50 AM Feb. 1, 2013 HOUSTON -- An alleged arsonist was arrested overnight after sharp eyewitnesses helped catch him within hours of a massive fire at a feed store in east Harris County.

Sheldon firefighters were the first to respond to the fire at the store in the 13700 block of Beaumont Highway near Royalwood. Several dogs were rescued but others died in the fire, along with chickens and pigeons.

The store also carries larger animals such as horses, but they are kept in another part of the store and were unharmed.
