DNA led authorities to arrest a man in the death more than a decade ago of a 22-year-old woman who was found hog-tied and badly beaten in her north Harris County apartment.

Craig Porter, 43, is charged with murder in the slaying of Cherita Thurman in September 2002, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said Porter was arrested Tuesday without incident at his apartment.
