TEXAS CITY - An arbitration hearing will get underway Thursday in Texas City for a police officer fired for engaging in an altercation with a woman officer, resulting in criminal charges being filed against him.
Officer Darren A. Allen was charged in November 2012 with trespassing and assault following the October incident with the policewoman.
Supposedly Allen and officer Eulalia Arthorlee responded to a call together after which he went to her Texas City home and went inside without permission where the assault took place.
The case has been described as "a can of worms" because it involves other police officers, the police chief, another woman who was a jailer, and the story goes on.
Allen is being represented by CLEAT, the Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas, one of the state's large police associations.
At one point in the ongoing saga a complaint was filed against Police Chief Robert Burby related to Allen's firing, but details of that complaint were never revealed.
Allen was hired as a police officer in Texas City in 2007 and until this incident had a spotless record.
