Galveston County Sheriff's Warrant investigators, working with U. S. Marshal's Violent Offender Task Force officers, captured two men Thursday wanted in connection with unrelated sex crimes cases.

Ricky James Benavides, 27, had been wanted since last month on charges he failed to properly register as a sex offender.  Investigators following a Crimestoppers' tip found Benavides hiding in a house in the 700 block of 11th St. North in Texas City.

Benavides reportedly tried to hide in a closet inside the residence and fought with deputies trying to take him into custody.  He reportedly fractured his arm during the struggle, and was treated at a local hospital for before being taken to the Galveston County Jail.  He remains in custody under a $100,000 bond, charged with Failure to Comply with Sex Offenders Duty to Register.

In an unrelated incident, Sheriff's Warrant investigators arrested Robert Eugene Bailey, 51, of Bacliff, without incident at a residence in the 100 block of Moss St. in Lake Jackson.  Bailey was indicted last month in connection with a September, 2012  report of a sexual assault.  Bailey is charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child, and is incarcerated at the Galveston County Jail under a $250,000 bond.
