CORPUS CHRISTI - Two Port of Corpus Christi police officers received commendations for rescuing four people after their watercraft overturned in Corpus Christi Bay in October.
Craig Gisler and Larry Thieme were returning to port from a routine marine patrol when bad weather arrived, according to an account provided by the port. They heard a call from the Corpus Christi Police Department about the overturned watercraft east of the Holiday Inn at Emerald Beach, indicating a possible drowning.
